Self Study Small Purchase Descriptions

The Small Purchase Descriptions Self-Study Program consists of three chapters, each includes self-testing quizzes and exercises. Each chapter contains the same amount of material that would be covered in classroom instruction as follows: Chapter I: Small Purchase Descriptions and Work Statements Basics (3 Hours), Chapter II: Purchase Descriptions (4 Hours), and Chapter III: Work Statements (7 Hours). Upon completing the last chapter, the participant must notify Houseman & Associates that he/she is ready for the final exam (25 short answer questions.) Approximately one hour is allotted within the Program to review/study for the final. The participant has one hour to take the final exam.
Examinations
Examinations may be taken on an Open Book basis. They must be returned to Houseman & Associates. We will grade them within 10 days of receipt and provide the results to the participant including the rationale underlying any incorrectly answered questions. Passing grade for the COR Refresher exam is 17/25 (70%). One retest with a different exam will be allowed if the participant's score is less than 70%.A passing grade for the Simplified Acquisition Refresher Program is 56/90 (70%) - representing the aggregate score of the mid-term and final exams. One retest of the final (with a different exam) will be allowed if the participant's aggregate score is less than 70%.Passing grade for the Small Purchase Descriptions and Work Statements exam is 17/25 (70%). One retest with a different exam will be allowed if the participant's score is less than 70%.Time Limits
Participants are allowed 60 days from date of receipt of the training package to complete the training program and return the final exam to Houseman & Associates. A one-time extension of 20 days may be requested by the participant's supervisor and will be considered by Houseman & Associates on a case-by-case basis.
