
COR Level I: Basic Contracting for CORs (1 Day) – 8 CLPs
Course Objective
This introductory course fulfills requirements for FAC-COR Level certification. It is designed for agency personnel who will be CORs or will perform some of the functions of a COR. It is divided into three learning modules (i) Contracting Basics for CORs; (ii) Evaluating Proposals; and (iii) Technical Management. Each learning module comprises several blocks of information that include examples, exercises, and questions.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to:

Identify the phases of the acquisition process and their role and responsibilities during each phase.

Explain key contracting terms and principles.

Cite requirements for market research and the essential content of a procurement request.

Recognize primary contracting methods and contract types.

Appreciate basic policies that affect their acquisition contributions.

Cite COR certifications requirements.

Prepare for a technical evaluation.

Acknowledge do’s and don’ts of the evaluation process.

Document adequately technical and cost evaluations.

Review and apply a COR appointment letter.

Issue within-scope directions.

Conduct quality assurance

Link their technical reviews contractor billings.

Ensure proper and prompt payment of contractor invoices.
Hours:8 hours are credited for completion of this course. Classroom hours are 8:30 – 4:30.
