FAC-COR Elective Training − All Levels

Course Perspective: This maintenance course provides an update of statutory, regulatory and policy changes and their impact on CORs. It discusses how each change affects COR responsibilities and how it should be implemented to ensure legal compliance and to further program interests in acquisition.


This course also reinforces core COR responsibilities quality/schedule assurance and submittal review. It also covers building a sound and otherwise ethical business relationship with the contractor.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify changes to FAC-COR requirements, COR certification and competency requirements, and methods available to maintain acquisition currency and fulfill certification requirements.

  • Identify changes to statutory law, federal regulation, and case law decisions and how they potentially affect their acquisitions.

  • Recognize new requirements and opportunities for using task order contracts, performance specifications, and the GSA Acquisition Gateway.

  • Recognize new limitations on commercial item acquisitions.

  • Identify updates to CPARs, stage gate reviews, and performance-based payments.

  • Fulfill their COR assignment using practical management tools. 

  • Identify and know how to use tools for scope (quality), schedule, and cost control.

  • Recognize when and how to use submittals to keep performance on track.

  • Recognize essential elements of fostering sound business relationship with contractors.

Hours: 8 hours/CLPs are credited for completion of this course. Classroom hours are 8:30 – 4:30.
